There’s nothing better than building a person’s confidence through a healthy and stunning smile. Providing healthy and functional teeth is an important part of what we do, but what motivates me even more is seeing the effect that orthodontic treatment can have on the person as a whole. The smile is our first impression, our introduction to others. Whether it’s a job interview, a first date, or a laugh with friends, that confidence from a great smile shines through. It's an honor to be a part of our patients’ journey toward becoming their best selves, and that's what drives me to give them my vest best and deliver exceptional results.
I was drawn to the medical field from a young age. I find all aspects of the human body fascinating; how everyone can be the same, and yet so different. Combining that interest with the hands on approach of dentistry was a natural fit.
It wasn’t until later in dental school, when I had my first class in orthodontics, that an interest became a passion! The puzzle of each person's teeth, the long-term benefit you can have on someone's teeth, the positive effect you can have on them as a person, not to mention the relationships you build with them along the way; I don't think there's a single job more fulfilling and I feel blessed to be able to do it every day.
My Education: A Golden Eagle Through and Through
Born only a few miles down the road, it feels full circle to have come back to the Northshore. I spent the later part of my childhood growing up in Appleton, but felt at home when I came back for college. I am proud to have attended Marquette University for all 10 years of my education, including undergraduate studies, Dental School, and my Orthodontic Residency. Marquette provides more than just an education. It instills becoming a part of and supporting the community around you.
I was also instilled with the desire to not only meet, but exceed the standards of my profession. My education never stops as I am always seeking opportunities to learn how to create the best results for my patients with efficiency and the least stress along the way.
At Home on the North Shore
I met my wife and best friend, Abbey, during our time at Marquette and love the life we have built together. We have two incredible boys, Wade and Dawson, who are full of smiles and endless energy. And we can't forget our firstborn, Harvey (our Goldendoodle) who will greet anyone like they are his long-lost best friend. My primary job is being a husband and dad, and it’s maybe the only job more rewarding than being an orthodontist.
Abbey and I share a borderline unhealthy love for coffee. Combine that with our high-energy, low-sleep children, you can typically find us on the weekends making a stop (or two) at Colectivo or Stone Creek. We also enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling to new places to hike. I grew up playing soccer and still try to keep playing. You might spot me out at Uihlein fields on a Friday night! Most of all, I enjoy watching my two boys growing up and seeing the joy and amazement they find in all the little things in life.
